I thought I would take a break from writing about muffins, cupcakes and all things pumpkin flavored to share a truly beautiful blog post I read earlier this week. Since it was published on Wednesday, this post has reached well over 200,000 views on reddit, has been re-published by a number of online magazines and websites, and the author just so happens to be one of my closest friends. I met Hollis my freshman year in high school, and it was evident immediately that she is the type of person that can command the attention of any room she walks into. Every story she tells is more like a performance, as she can capture the attention of a crowd better than anyone I know. So it came as no surprise to me when she decided to pursue a career in acting. Because for an amazing storyteller like Hollis, acting just seems like the perfect fit. She is talented, charismatic, and a fiercely loyal friend. She also just so happens to be a little person. But there is absolutely nothing “small” about Hollis. In her incredibly candid post, Hollis shares her experience of performing in the much buzzed about Miley Cyrus VMA performance, and her thoughts on being a little person in the entertainment business. What she wrote is incredibly brave and a testament to the kind of gal she is. So please read her amazing words.
