For us Metro Detroiters, the perfect summer vacation destination is just beyond our fingertips. Northern Michigan, or “Up North” as all Michiganders would say , is the perfect summer playground. Gorgeous water to spend the warm days on and beautiful sunsets to end the night with. But after the sun sets is when the real fun begins. Because an Up North vacation isn’t complete without nightly bonfires with gooey s’mores dripping with chocolate and fluffy marshmallow.
But just in case you may not be able to make your way to a lakeside bonfire this Fourth of July, I have a recipe for you that captures the flavor of Michigan Summer without the need for a bonfire. These S’more Rice Krispie treats are just as gooey and sweet as the classic, but can be made quickly in your own kitchen. Check out the Patch for the recipe and enjoy your Fourth of July!
