I’ll be honest. I’m not a big fan of smoothies. There are so many other things I’d rather have for breakfast. Like cereal. Or pancakes. But chocolate milkshakes on the other hand, I’m a huge fan of. So I decided to make a healthy chocolate “smoothie” so I would have an excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast. Not that I’d really need an excuse…I’d eat chocolate for breakfast anyway…but this little creation makes me happy & healthy. And if you call it a smoothie, it automatically makes it healthy. Which is good…because I definitely ate cookies in place of dinner last night. Whatever. It happens. I used almond milk & sunflower seed butter in this recipe because both offer a sweeter, nuttier flavor, but you could easily substitute skim milk & peanut butter if you are going for something a bit more classic. So make this smoothie/milkshake and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup silken tofu
- 2/3 cup almond milk
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sunflower seed butter
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
- 1 cup ice

This must taste like heaven. Great idea using tofu as a thickener.
